I am pleased to be able to report that the Chichester Observer (owned by Johnston Press) has now seen fit to restore all of my previously published comments on their web site which, as I said last week, they had deleted, on the spurious, sinister and Orwellian grounds of so-called “hate speech”.
Their readers, the people of Chichester, deserve an open debate on the issues upon which the local elections due on 2 May are being fought, one in which every point of view is allowed a hearing. It seems that Chichester’s local newspaper now understands this.
One small victory for common sense. Will there be others on 2 May? The people will decide.
