A ‘novelist’ sparked anger yesterday by saying the death of elderly voters over the next two years would help swing a second referendum against Brexit.
Ian McEwan told a conference of Remain supporters that by 2019 thousands of elderly anti-EU voters would be ‘freshly in their graves’.
He said this could make the country more ‘receptive’ to choosing to stay in the bloc.
