URGENT: TELL YOUR MP HOMOSEXUAL ‘MARRIAGE’ MUST NOT BE FORCED ON NORTHERN IRELAND
Dear Marriage supporter
Supporters of same-sex ‘marriage’ are continuing to target Northern Ireland.
Next week, some MPs intend to disrupt a devolution Bill in an attempt to impose same-sex ‘marriage’ on Northern Ireland. Several amendments have been tabled with the same goal, and oddly the Government is giving time for them to be considered.
This is shocking. It should be for the Stormont Assembly to decide on any purported redefinition of marriage, taking into account the views of people in Northern Ireland. That’s how democracy works. The MPs involved in this are abusing their position and taking improper advantage of the current political situation.
If the attempt succeeds, Members of the devolved Assembly will not be able to put in safeguards as C4M succeeded in doing in the rest of the UK. There won’t even be proper legislative scrutiny at Westminster because of the underhand way this is being done.
Please take action. Email your MP today while there is still time.
Tips for what to say
Please be polite but clear, and use your own words.
Ask your MP to oppose the amendments in any way possible.
Tell him that the Northern Ireland Assembly should make decisions on same-sex ‘marriage’ in the Province.
It undermines the principle and purpose of devolution if Westminster imposes same-sex ‘marriage’ on the people of Northern Ireland. The Assembly is the right place for such legislation to be considered.
Only proper consultation and debate can ensure workable protections are included for those who disagree. This won’t happen if same-sex ‘marriage’ is introduced by Westminster regulations and not by the Northern Ireland Assembly.
