Lloyds Bank’s politically biased campaign
As a customer of Lloyds Bank I write to express my deep dissatisfaction at the bank’s use of customers’ money to finance a controversial political campaign in favour of so-called same-sex ‘marriage’.
Same-sex ‘marriage’ is not popular, with only a few thousand such combinations having taken place, as recently published figures demonstrate.
Why then is Lloyds Bank using its customers’ money to promote causes they oppose?
Lloyds Bank was rescued with public money. It should not show such contempt for the values and beliefs of the great majority of taxpayers.
In this country marriage has for thousands of years been the union of one man and one woman. By supporting the recent and misconceived attempt by government to ‘redefine’ it Lloyds Bank has meddled with a politically controversial issue and shown profound disrespect for the views of the great majority of its customers, including myself.
I hope you will reconsider this injudicious policy and concentrate your efforts on what should be the core business of a clearing bank, rather than continuing to offend the public with an ill-chosen and inappropriate political campaign.
I look forward to hearing from you.
